About this Game
WWE 12 is the latest installment of THQ's long running string of wrestling simulation games. It seeks to build on the strengths of previous releases while avoiding some of their weaknesses. Previous titles had some noticeable and quite large limitations - moves were independent of opponent's physical actions or state. Interruption moves were also problematic. Some elements were also unrealistic such as easy kick out moves for wrestlers who already took quite a bit of damage. Previous games also allowed players to "spam" moves - overusing the same maneuver and move over and over again. Previously, players could store finishing moves but this feature was removed with a later update. WWE '12 fixed the limitations above as well as introducing new ring, crowd, and physics realism enhancements to make the game more realistic. All these updates and game play changes are also accompanied by new animation technology dubbed the "Predator Technology." One key element of this technology is to avoid the collision detection problems suffered by previous releases. Realism remains the game's development goal throughout.
Players have move control with the WWE Universe mode which triggers new events with greater unpredictability that relies on players' decisions. The Road to WrestleMania story mode has been expanded and improved. Players will also have greater game control over the content through creation modes - superstar entrances, finishing moves, storylines, highlight reels, and arena creations will take user input. Also, players can now share their creations online with other fans. WWE '12 is slated for release on November 22, 2011.
