About this Game
The role playing game, The Lord of the Rings - War in the North was developed by Snowblind and is set in a location that hasn't been covered too much by the Lord of the Rings Tolkien books and Peter Jackson movies - the Northern reaches of Middle Earth. While fans of the Lord of the Rings books, movies, and previous video games are very familiar with the southern portions of Middle-Earth, the conflict that ripped Tolkien's fantasy world between the forces of evil and good also took place in the North. This game pits three hardy adventurers - a human, a dwarf, and an elf against all the evil forces the North can throw at them. Each character possesses a different class - Eradan is a Ranger, the dwarf, Farin, is a warrior/Champion and the elf, Andriel, is a magic user.
While their classes are different, they are quite adaptable and can adopt to a wide range of situations. Each character "race" has a special ability. For example, dwarves can look for and mine gems. Players can play with other players or they can play solo. If playing solo, players can issue orders to their NPC allies. Just like with other RPG titles, as the player gains experience, the more adaptable and customized his character skills become. Also, unlike many RPG games, you can replay your character after you finish the game and keep your gear and skills.
