About this Game
If the smooth, fluid action and excellent graphics of Need for Speed - The Run caught your eye and seems vaguely familiar, your eyes aren't playing tricks on you. Need for Speed - The Run is an EA title and it runs on the Battlefield 3 Frostbite 2 engine. This game engine is more familiar to game fans as the engine behind the first person shooter epic title Battlefield 3. Given the fact that racing games live and die based on their ability to deliver racing realism, Need For Speed - The Run's powerful game engine definitely helps this title meet the racing genre's realism requirements. While the storyline for this game is quite basic and thin (the player is involved in an illegal high stakes race across America), the suspense and excitement made possible by excellent graphics and game physics keep the player's eyes glued to the road and other cars.
Need For Speed - The Run packs key elements many car fans and enthusiasts have - wild chase scenes, high suspense urban driving, expansive all-American terrain, and cops on your trail. Talk about chills, spills, and thrills - it is like the contemporary version of Cannonball Run without the cheesy theatrics. Need For Speed - The Run delivers excellent graphics, great car physics, and at least a plausible storyline to frame the action.
