About this Game
Dragon Age 2 is an RPG offering from BioWare’s studio in Edmonton and was published by EA. This game is the second major title from the franchise and comes with the fantastical elements expected from the series. It is set in the mythical world of Thedas that has been first defined in Dragon Age – Origins. This installment was released on various platforms last March 2011. The gamer will get to play a rogue warrior called Hawke who started out in Kirkwall as a refugee. Later on, however, he becomes the city’s legendary champion through a decade of socio-political conflicts. Kirkwall has not yet been explored in Origins just mentioned in passing.
The game’s story is revealed through flashbacks through the character Varric’s POV. Varric is one of the protagonist’s companions. He tells his interrogator Cassandra Pentaghast about how Hawke was able to achieve his current position as Champion. The story he tells is divided into three acts with intervals of about three years. The player does affect the game’s story development. However, the main plot remains the same even up to its last quest. By then, the player gets to choose between two endings. Dragon Age 2 is a RPG played as hack and slash. The player has to first create a character with a surname of “Hawke”. He or she can then customize the character’s gender, looks, given name and combat specialty. Hawke can either be a warrior, a mage or a rogue. Each role has different weapons and capabilities.
