About this Game
Dead or Alive 5 is a fighting game to be released in the fall of 2012. It is actually the only franchise title since Dead or Alive 2 that will be released for several platforms and on both PS3 and Xbox 360 home consoles simultaneously. This console installment will be the first in the franchise not overseen by creator Tomonubu Itagaki and the first ever to be played on the PS3.
In September 2011, the game has just been officially announced during the Tokyo Game Show. The first trailer focused on the action, with Hayate and Ryu Hayabusa fighting it off on a yet unfinished skyscraper, which ended up getting destroyed anyway and showing environmental interaction within the game.
Yosuke Hayashi, the game’s producer, has decided to tone down the sensuality, which the game has become pretty known for. He wants to veer the franchise towards a more subtlety and sophistication. Also, he and his team are focused on ensuring that the environment is suitably affected by the action. It may also be worth nothing that both Ayane and Hitomi will be playable characters in the fifth installment. Kasumi, meanwhile, will be shown in the promo poster, and will also be playable, according to a trailer premiered at the 2012 GDC.
A demo for Dead or Alive 2 that has been placed in the same package as Ninja Gaiden 3 will be featuring Ayane, Hitomi, Hayabusa and Hayate.
