Catherine (Xbox 360)

Catherine is a sexy survival horror and puzzle platformer game that allows the protagonist to embark in a one-of-a-kind of adventure involving fate, love, lust and repercussions. The game comes from developers Atlus Persona Team and publisher Atlus for the two main home consoles, Xbox 360 and PS3. In this adult-oriented game, the player gets to be Vincent Brooks, a guy who has been plagued with nightmares after his girlfriend, whose name is Katherine – yes, with the K  - starts broaching the topic of marriage. Things become even more complicated when Vincent meets the titular Catherine. The two become involved in an affair but this only worsened the nightmares.

The main story mode is named Golden Playhouse. This mode follows the story that happens between Nightmare and Daytime. During the day, Vincent interacts with friends and juggles two relationships. He also even gets to play a mini-game with a very feminine name, Rapunzel. Though the Daytime scenarios present the regular, well almost, life of Vincent, the Nightmare stages are what present the player with the main gameplay. In the nightmare world where other men live, Vincent has to clamber up staircases. It is not so easy as it sounds, however. The staircases will collapse and he has to pull, push or climb blocks while avoiding all sorts of painful traps. This must be the hell for unfaithful men.

Another feature that makes the game interesting is the presence of various endings, happy or unhappy, with Catherine or Katherine.
