About this Game
Skylanders – Spyro’s Adventure is a Spyro spinoff game published by Activision. Toys for Bob developed the game while Vicarious Visions has taken over the development for the Nintendo 3Ds release. Spyro’s Adventure was launched in October 2011. A Japanese release is in the works.
In the game, players gain control of the Portal Master, who in turn can manipulate more than 37 different characters. The Portal Master can even control Spyro. Players explore the world and its lands, fight evil creatures, accumulate treasures and decipher puzzles. Their ultimate goal, however, is to save the world from and defeat Kaos, who is a villainous Portal Master.
The video game is accompanied by three toys and the “Portal of Power”, which is peripheral that connects to the chosen console. If the player has the corresponding toy to one of the 37 playable characters, he can use that character. The toy must be seated on the Portal of Power to zap in that character into the world of the game. Note that each character is unique. A character belongs to a certain class and has varying attributes. Each character has a primary and a secondary attack. Upgrades are also possible so that he or she can be given a tertiary attack as well as defence.
The original game pack comes with Spyro, Trigger Happy and Gill Grunt, just three characters. Players have to buy each of the 34 other characters they want to use for the game.
