Sleeping Dogs (PS3)

The video game Sleeping Dogs was originally called True Crime – Hong Kong. United Front Games is currently developing the title while Square Enix is set to publish it. The game is the third offering from the True Crime franchise but this is less apparent because of the change in title, which makes the game sound like a standalone title instead. Luxoflux will not be in charge of the development this time around because the studio has already closed back in 2010. Square Enix has taken over in terms of publishing by getting hold of the rights after Activision cancelled the game.

As of now, the project is being produced by its new developer under the supervision of the publisher's London Studios, which also supervised hot items such as Batman – Arkham Asylum. The change of titles was necessary because Square Enix did not buy the rights to the franchise’s trademark. The events in the story are set in Hong Kong. The game follows a Hong Kong detective who tries to get into the a criminal syndicate by going undercover.The gamer will be playing the role of this detective protagonist, whose name is Wei Shan. Sleeping Dogs will be launched on PC, PS3 and Xbox 260 this coming August 2012.
