About this Game
Mass Effect 3 is the final installment in the Mass Effect trilogy that chronicles humanity's struggle against the Reapers and their plans for galactic domination. In Mass Effect 3, the Reapers return with a vengeance and the game is the culmination of the final showdown with their human enemies. Ever since its first release, the Mass Effect series has won critical acclaim for both its graphics and technical attributes but also for its story development/game lore, dialogue, voice acting, and player choices/decision trees. The game is developed by BioWare and published by Electronic Arts.
Mass Effect 3 will feature various locations ranging from Sur'Kesh's salarian homeworld, the homeworld of the asari Thessia, Palaven the turian homeworld, Illium, the krogan homeworld Tuchanka, and Earth. Unlike previous installments, Mass Effect 3 will also feature more RPG elements. Players first start with a single path of skills which then veer off into differing branches depending on which path players wish to focus on. The game will also feature 25 differing weapon mods (five mods per type of weapon). The game also features mini-games. Mass Effect 3 will also welcome a new character, James Vega, to its roster.
This installment's combat system has been changed quite radically from previous titles. There is more of a third person shooter element than previous installments. The cover system has also been changed along with battle options to give players more choice. Now, players can shoot and move - this was previously a losing proposition. BioWare will also be introducing a multiplayer mode in this installment for the very first time in the series. Mass Effect 3 is slated for release on March 6, 2012.
