About this Game
Trine 2 is a fantasy platform that charms its players with awesome-looking visuals, as well as fun and open-ended physics puzzles. It further attracts gamers with the fluidity and accessibility of its platforming. It also offers a fun co-op game, whether the player is offline or online. While the game certainly does not lack charm, its story is pretty typical of a fairy tale. It does not offer anything new that can really take use in story-wise. Trine 2 is packed with the usual suspects, one can say.
The fantasy game is led by three heroes: a knight, a thief and a wizard. Of course, there goes your usual fantasy story. These three even have to rescue a princess and have to journey through an enchanted forest. They have to fight off goblins and other icky creatures and are equipped with simple but distinct powers. For example, the knight has a sword and a shield as well as a warhammer. The thief has a grappling hook, a bow and an arrow. The wizard is able to levitate items and even summon boxes or planks.
Though conventional, the game is still a recommended product because it does provide a satisfying platform puzzler. It is then safe to say that this is a game that is focused on the actual gameplay and not on the story. The fairytale story, of course, lends much of the charm of the game because it is through this story that players get to encounter beautiful environments.
