Tom Clancy's Ghost Recon - Future Soldier (PC)

Tom Clancy’s Ghost Recon – Future Soldier is a Ubisoft-published video game, which is set to launch in May 2012. If expansions should be ignored, this title will stand as the Ghost Recon series’ fourth offering. It was first announced back in 2009. By the very name of the installment, gamers get a sense that the title will be a futuristic twist to the franchise. The PSP version has Predator as its sort of subtitle instead of Future Soldier. The Wii version does not carry a subtitle at all.

The game, as suggested above, is set in a scary but not so distant future. A bomb has blasted a Ghost team (a team of elite soldiers) and yet another team has been given the mission of tracking down the culprits. The team has to go to places such as Nigeria, Norway, Pakistan and Russia to try to accomplish its task.

The game is generally a third person shooter but the POV shifts when the player tries for more precision in shots. Though it is cover-based, the players have to frequently try to find other nooks and crannies to hide behind because the covers can be destroyed by enemies. Players also have to note that while opponents are raining fire on them, they will have a harder time seeing what is ahead. So, return shots can be difficult to execute. The Ghost team can make use of a “optical camouflage” and other futuristic spying-devices so they may also be able to sneak around with smaller chances of getting seen.
