There's no two ways about it, Stalingrad turned the tide of war in World War 2. Without the decisive Soviet pushback that started in this city, the world would be a completely different place. Sure, America is already in the war but most of the action it saw was in the Pacific theatre. Russia took the full brunt of the Third Reich's war machine and, aided by the crushing Russian winter, managed to claw its way back to victory. This is the sense of urgency that Red Orchestra 2 - Heroes of Stalingrad seeks to capture. This first person shooter title focuses on historical realism since many other FPS titles tend to get lost in shootouts and tend to look generic after a while.

The setting for Red Orchestra 2 - Heroes of Stalingrad plays as much of a role as the basic fps elements of weapon selection and assault mobility. While many fps titles take covering as a standard feature, in this game, cover is very important and historically accurate as you partake in a house by house, street by street struggle to expel the Nazi invaders.
