About this Game
Gotham City Impostors is a FPS that offers only a multiplayer mode. As the title suggests, the game is set in Batman’s universe, in Gotham City. Monolith Production developed the game and then Warner Bros. Interactive Entertainment published it. It is interesting how the game was designed without a single player campaign. At least eight people should be playing the game all at once. Anyway, there are two factions that are going against each other here. One team’s members dress up like Batman and the other team predictably dresses as The Joker, who has become the go-to Batman villain in recent years or so it seems.
As can be imagined from the description of the factions, the members of each team are wearing over-the-top costumes. Even the environments go hyperbolic in nature, with innocent settings that can go horrific (at least in horror movies) chosen as the backdrop, such as the amusement park. The weapons range from conventional to unbelievably weird. You will find jack-in-the-box grenades, and rocket launchers, for example. There is even a game entitled ‘Psychological Warfare’ where the two groups try to get a battery to their respective base. Each team must defend the battery when found in its territory.
Gotham City Impostors is set to launch on Microsoft Windows, the PlayStation Network and Xbox Live Arcade in February 2012.
