About this Game
First person shooter Call of Duty - Modern Warfare 3 is the latest installment of the long running and highly successful Call of Duty series published by Activision. While the series was originally developed by Infinity Ward, it also relies on the following studios - Sledgehammer Games, Raven Software, and Treyarch. The game runs on the MW3 Engine. It's been upgraded to allow for better graphics streaming while clocking a minimum of 60 frames per second.
Modern Warfare 3's multiplayer version will also feature a revamped killstreak reward system. Points will now be given out based on a wide range of mission objectives instead of just purely notching successful kills. Additionally, the game's ranking system and unlocks have been revamped to allow weapons to level up in experience along with the player's character. Previously, unlocks were done through currency payments.
While Call of Duty - Modern Warfare 3 offers a great single player storyline, much of its emphasis is on multiplayer gameplay. Running battles will take place in a span of 20 maps. This is the total number reported but it remains to be seen how many will actually be shipping with the game and how many will be released as downloadable content. Modern Warfare 3 will bring back the highly popular co-op Spec Ops mode from Modern Warfare 2. So far, five maps for the survival mode have been announced while seven missions maps have been publicized for the Spec Ops mode.
Modern Warfare 3 is set for release on November 8, 2011 on the PC, PS3, and Xbox 360 platforms.
