XCOM – Enemy Unknown: Casualties of War Trailer Released

There has been a lot of hype surrounding the release of XCOM – Enemy unknown. Developed by Fireaxis Games for 2K Games, the title is a reimagining of the 1994  classic strategy game UFO: Enemy Unknown (also known as X-COM: UFO Defense).

XCOM – Enemy Unkown is set on modern-day Earth, however, like the original, it deals with an international response to a global alien invasion. The player is commander of a top secret XCOM Project. This is supposedly the most elite military and scientific organization that has ever existed, that has been created to engage in what seems to be a hopeless war against an unidentified, and more technologically advanced extraterrestrial enemy.

As you can see from the trailer, this reiteration of the title is a lot more bombastic than it’s predecessor. But you still get to order your troops to their doom or their victory, in a manner befitting the strategy game genre. Do you have what it takes to save Earth from its extraterrestrial foes? The game is out on October 9 in the US and October 12 in Europe.
