WWE ’13: Some stars might not be in the next installment
Watching the WWE’s star roster is similar to watching television shows. At first, you are intrigued by a new show that appears on the lineup. It may have a catchy premise and you follow it immediately. Or it might have a star or element that annoys you but you end up watching it because it is followed by your favorite show.
Regardless, you eventually dig the show and become a loyal fan. Suddenly, unless you are a TV Guide subscriber or follow the show online, the show disappears. It’s been canceled. Usually, if the show makes it to a few seasons, there’s a “final show” special. However, if it had a very short career, it would just disappear. Like drops of water on some hot coals. Such is the life cycle of TV programming. The same plays out with the WWE. You see an interesting new performer, they wow and capture an audience, they make it to Summer Slam, things appear fine and they are coasting, then all of a sudden their WWE contract does not get renewed and you don’t see them anymore. No more ringside drama. No more ringside heroics. Just warm memories of yet another talent that did their time in WWE.

As we have reported earlier, the Bella Twins have not renewed their contract with the WWE so they probably will not be in WWE ’13. Barring some seriously awesome negotiation skills from their agent to put them on a “Legends” contract so they can appear in video games and WWE merchandising, we probably will not see them in WWE 13. Edge also left and despite being offered a “Legends” contract, turned it down. Don’t expect him to appear in the next installment of the highly popular wrestling simulation WWE series. We have just gotten word that Goldust will probably not be appearing. Unlike the Bella Twins, Goldust, who was doing some behind the scenes work for WWE, was recently let go of by the company. This is quite a loss since we last saw him in WWE ’12. While there is a chance that Goldust might still appear in the WWE ’13 roster, there are only so many slots to fill and chances are WWE might want to put newer talents like Lord Tensai in those slots.
