Resident Evil – Operation Raccoon City: Game graphics revealed in screenshot scan
Don’t you love videogame anticipation marketing? If you thought those mysterious billboards for upcoming movies featuring grainy logos or mysterious slogans are attention-grabbing and intriguing, then you haven’t seen how it’s done in the video game world. In gaming marketing, it is all about getting and keeping the attention of a fickle gaming market and the blogger media that caters to them. We had a hefty dose of this with call of duty, the battlefield series, and now it’s the Resident Evil franchise’s turn. Apparently, the Capcom published title Resident Evil: operation Racoon City has some “leaked” magazine scans that, surprise (?), features screenshots of game graphics. The scans come from the Official Playstation France magazine. Apparently, the graphics don’t ostensibly live up to next generation graphics standards. However, this might just be a ploy to keep our attention as more details surface.
Regardless, a new 3DS installment of Resident Evil is out and it packs quite a punch. The Mercenaries 3D even comes with a free demo. Check out the trailer to enjoy the graphics punch this game packs. As a veteran of gaming anticipation marketing, you learn quickly not to gulp down the first fish (bait?) that comes your way. We are quite sure that there’s more to this story coming. All part of the creative marketing needed to stay relevant in this extremely competitive space.
