MLB 2K12: Top Fan Picks for the Baseball Sim
Major League Baseball 2K12 is launching this coming March 6, 2012, with Justin Verlander as its cover athlete. He was selected to represent the game on behalf of other baseball players, but who do fans really want to play as in the baseball sim? Here are the top five athletes that fans would love to see in MLB 2K12 in no particular order:
Justin Verlander, Detroit Tigers SP
Obviously, Justin Verlander is one of these guys. He is the cover athlete, after all. This is not just for show, either. Last season, he was given the title of American League MVP and has been an All-Star four times. Pick him if you want 100 mph fastballs and being able to pitch in the 90s.
Albert Puhols, Los Angeles Angels 1B
Pick Pujols simply for being baseball’s best hitter. He also has 11 years of experience to back him up, not going less than 32 home runs per season. You are looking at a two-time champion, three-time MVP and nine-time All-Star.
Yu Darvish, Texas Rangers SP
Go for Darvish if you want to throw six-plus pitches. Pick from any type of pitch: splitter, curveball, slurve, two or four seam fastball, you name it. Mix them up to confuse your opponents.
Prince Fielder, Detroit Tigers 1B
Another Tigers representative, Fielder may be your guy if as he can really hit hard and has enjoyed 38 home runs last season. He does not go lower than 28.

Matt Kemp Los Angeles Dodgers
Matt Kemp is the guy that you might have thought will be chosen over Verlander for the cover. He pretty much dominated last season with 39 home runs, a .324 hit and other awesome stats.
