Minecraft: Notch Announces Awesome MineCon Location
He’s got it all. The man behind indie favourite Minecraft is a charming old soul. He’s got style he’s got class and he’s just announced that his next conference will take place at Disneyland Paris. Well no-one can say that fame has gone to his head.
The Mojang founder Marcus ‘Notch’ Person tweeted today that Disneyland Paris will see the next MineCon which will take place on the 24th and 25th November. It would be good to see the creepers brushing shoulders with Mickey Mouse. Last yeats Minecon was held in Las Vegas, and over 5,000 Minecraft fans attended. The after party even saw a set by Deadmau5, who wore a custom creeper-style mau5head.
But this year’s Minecon will be something for the Europeans. Swedish developers Mojang have certainly done themselves a bit of a favour, by ensuring that they don’t always hold all of their events in America, even though it must be tempting to do so. Mojang have never really been ones for following the rules. Their latest game, Scrolls, drew attention from the Umbrella company that owns Bethesda, the developers whomake the Elder Scrolls games. Luckily Mojang won the case against the corporate giants, which is a victory that all indie developers will feel the benefit of.
