Halo 4: What was that Conan O’Brien Thing all About?
In possibly the least funny “skit” I have ever watched, Conon O’Brien revealed what we already knew, that Halo 4 will be released on November 6th. For all the build up the Team Coco effort was pretty weak. 343 Industries had been teasing the the Conan reveal all say yesterday on Twitter but the result was a 10 minute skit in which O’Brien kept saying he was excited, while looking like he would rather be anywhere else, making fun of the executive producer’s name, and generally making it clear that he had no interest in video games whatsoever.
If you are in one of the few regions outside of the US that can actually view the video then enjoy the offering posted below. It is probable that Microsoft shouldn’t have teased the clip so much as the event may have had more impact if it were a complete surprise, or better yet, did not involve Conan O’Brien. Now as a Brit, I really hope that I am not going to attract the the trolls, when I call the clip distinctly unfunny. Maybe it is a cultural thing. However, I have seen enough really great American shows to know just how funny US TV can be.
The clip of the Halo 4 multiplayer is looking rather good though on a brighter note. It would have been nice if 343 Industries could have focussed a bit more on that and less on the weak, weak banter. I honestly hope the script writing is better in the game otherwise I will state now that the game is doomed.
