Fable – The Journey: New screenshots released along with release date
You’ve got to admit that the upcoming Kinect-powered fantasy action title Fable The Journey has quite a pedigree. Developed by Lionhead Studios, this title draws upon the many years of gaming design experience wielded by Lionhead’s boss Peter Molyneux. Be that as it may, the title hasn’t exactly had smooth sailing since last year.
In between defending itself against incorrect perceptions of being a “game on rails” or other public relations missteps. The most famous example of the latter being the game’s rudimentary showing at E3 2011. Molyneux has called that demonstration “a horrendous mistake.” Apparently, the game looked like it was indeed on rails because Molyneux had his team remove navigation in a bid to showcase how the game handled magic wielding. It backfired and made the game look static and got unfairly brushed with the “game on rails” kiss of death.
Microsoft has released new screenshots for Fable The Journey on Xbox.com. Feast your eyes on what Lionhead has put together. More importantly, the Microsoft move has seemingly validated a September 4 release date for the game. This game has expressly aimed to take Kinect controls to the next level of game experience. Depending on this title’s level of success, Fable The Journey might pave the way for more involved and complicated games incorporating Kinect or it might not.
