Fable 4 – The Journey: Kinect exclusive?

The Fable series of fantasy games have been a staple on the Xbox since day 1. It has a huge fan base even though  the series’ quality, it’s safe to say, has been quite uneven, to say the least. What keeps fans coming back is the story line and great action. However, it has been struggling, of late, to recapture the original sizzle of the early Fable version. Many fans feel they are hanging on to the series in dwindling hope that a new installment would recapture some of the faded glory of Fable.

There were some glimmers of hope when Fable 3 was released because of its cooperative game play and general improvements on Fable 2. Still, many fans were not fully satisfied because they felt the installment lacked any incentive to play again once you’ve ‘beaten’ it. The game length was also criticized. So all hopes are now turned to Fable 4 – The Journey.

However, there’s a bit of a curve ball for some long time Fable fans. Fable 4 – The Journey might be a Kinect-only exclusive. You read that correctly. Kinect only. While this is just a rumor, the Kinect exclusivity has kindled quite a bit of discussion among Fable fans online with many feeling they are ‘forced’ into Kinect. Since its hard to judge Fable 4 – The Journey before it comes out, many fans’ opinions are split on this one.

    Damn – another console only?
    AS a PC – my Fable 3 experience was marred because I couldn’t play fable 2!!

    Come on Peter : Would anyone have enjoyed star wars as much if they were forced to watch Return Of the Jedi after A New hope just because they decided not to release Empire Strikes back in their home country??

    I still want to play Fable 2 on the PC. Just stop messing with our sensibilities – its really REALLY annoying to miss out on an entire game and play the next one – there is always this lingering feeling of incompleteness!!!

      So dissapointed if it’s going to be a kinect exclusive. I am a huge fable fan and have been waiting for this game but have no space, nor money for kinect. Also it’s a better gaming experience with the abilty to relax whilst playing, I find. Anyway I agree with the fact of having a choice – Kinect or Controller, that way everyone is sorted out.

    The fable crew has lost me and i’m sure a bunch of other gamers if it really is kinect only. It is really disappointing.

    I hope it isn’t kinect only,because I don’t want to buy a $150 accessorie for one game.

    I can’t wait for fable 4 to be released. I feel this is a great move on lionhead’s part, but I feel they should give you the option on the title screen to choose kenect or controler. This would promote sales and make everyone happy who are fable fans.
