F.E.A.R. 3: Soul King preview trailer shows off multiplayer mode
F.E.A.R. 3, understandably, might be feeling the pressure of being left behind in the dust because of all the hype wars between the two 800 pound gorillas of the FPS genre, Battlefield 3 and Modern Warfare 3. Just judging from the latest video release from F.E.A.R. 3, I am not sure I would count them out as just an also ran – not yet.
F.E.A.R. 3′s new release video walks the viewer through the game’s premise, a disembodied ghoul possessing weapons, all the way to soul possession and multiplayer mode. While the whole zombie/occult angle seems a tad familiar now given Dead Space’s rendition of it and just the sheer saturation of the FPS genre in general, F.E.A.R. 3′s newest video does indicate that it might have a lot more fight left in its formula.
The video plays up the fact that soul possession is the key in F.E.A.R. 3 and this really highlights its game play distinction from the rest of the otherwise faceless mass of FPS games out there. Soul possession in multiplayer mode plays up the cut throat nature of the competitive game play of F.E.A.R. 3 and might just win it some new fans. This title is set for release on all three platforms on June 21 in North America.
