F.E.A.R. 3: Highly dramatic story trailer released
Warner Brothers Interactive has released a highly dramatic and suspenseful cinematic trailer in anticipation of its upcoming release of the latest installment in the F.E.A.R. series–F.E.A.R. 3. The trailer shows the sibling rivalry and psychological trauma of the twin brothers being separated at birth. All throughout a brooding evil creeps throughout the menacing trailer. The trailer also shows some gameplay from this FPS title. The standard explosions, shooting at enemies, and other FPS standard fare. However, what makes the trailer, and the series, stand out is the brooding evil that Paxton Fettel embodies. There’s also an added urgency for the player handling the Point Man character to find the source of his and Fettel’s mother’s (Alma) power and use it to defeat her.
If you got a slight chill watching the video, join the crowd. The trailer series is produced by such horror luminaries as John Carpenter and Steve Niles. F.E.A.R. 3 definitely plays up the macabre aspect of the first person shooter gaming genre With 2011 being “the year of the FPS”, entrants to this space, whether new titles or just new installments of established FPS titles, need all the differentiation, plot wise or technology wise, they need to get an edge.
