Driver – San Francisco: Multiplayer Walkthrough Video released
Driver – San Francisco’s latest video truly highlights key features that make Driver a distinctive “combat driving” game. All of the key modes are described in the walk through. Watch the demo car smash, crash, and run off other vehicles. Talk about aggressive driving! Each vehicle gets a damage meter and banging through a rival car triggers the meter. Hit them enough and you take them out.Another great feature is the ability to hot swap a car in the middle of a race. While not terribly realistic, it does add a lot of customization and fun to the game. Sometimes realism has to give way to the fantastic to boost the excitement and fun level of a game.
Driver – San Francisco gets it and that’s why it stands out from many of the other racing games out there which focus mostly on hyper realism. You can also demolish other cars through a tower defense type of set up. There are also a lot of game features to unlock and opportunities to earn points. However, one potentially problematic feature of the game is the “shift” feature. Some bloggers are complaining that it makes the game’s proclaimed attention to “tactics” seem hollow and, well, cheap. Shift lets you switch to a car that would propel you to the head of the pack. Driver – San Francisco is slated to hit stores on September 6.
