Driver – San Francisco: Finally gets a release date

For driving game fans sick of the Gran Turismo series, there’s some good news for you. Driver: San Francisco now has a release date. Well, not exactly a date but definitely a release month.

Racing fans looking for a GT alternative can now look forward to the month of September this year for the release of Ubisoft’s Driver: San Francisco. Not only does it release for the standard platforms (PC, PS3, and xbox), it will also have a Nintendo 3DS version. Talk about awesome. The 3DS version is titled Driver: Renegade. It is also slated for a Third Quarter release date. Besides the great news on the latest installment of the Driver franchise, Ubisoft also dropped some other release date bombs. Fans of the established shooter title Splinter Cell can now rejoice at the news that the latest installment of this franchise will be released in the second quarter of 2011. This is quite a relief for Splinter cell fans since this release has been delayed.

Early estimates peg the probably release date at June 21st for the PS3. It’s still not definite though. Another title announced for release is the Child of Eden. The PC version of this game will be shipped April 21st 2011 with the UK version hitting the stores on June 17th for the PC and Xbox 360 version. Looks like its going to be a hot year for Ubisoft!
