Dragon Age 2: Title pulled from Steam

I can’t say I didn’t see it coming. When EA launched its digital download site Origin, there was a sinking feeling that this move would result in clashes with similar digital download services in the gaming industry such as Valve’s Steam. Sure enough, the EA title Dragon Age 2 has become a casualty in what may devolve into a digital download turf war between EA and Valve. Steam recently changed its terms of service which requires supported games to be downloadable from Steam’s shop. EA’s decision to sell its DLC releases might have resulted in this conflict and may explain Valve’s action.

It definitely sucks for Dragon Age 2 fans looking to download that title’s first DLC release, Dragon Age 2 – Legacy, off Steam. Instead, they were greeted, at Legacy’s release date, with the expulsion of Dragon Age 2 from Steam’s roster. All the above may be speculation since we still don’t have official word regarding Steam’s action. Now, Legacy is only available as game you download in-game.
