Dead Space 3: Journalist Accidentally Confirms Sequel
There has been a lot of action lately involving the Dead Space franchise. A copy of Dead Space 2 is offered as a pre-order bonus for Battlefield 3 orders made through EA’s digital distribution service, Origin. It appears there’s a reason why EA wants gamers to notice the Dead Space franchise – Dead Space 3 is under development. What a great way to build up demand – pack Dead Space 2 with one of the most heavily anticipated first person shooter titles in recent memory. How do we know that Dead Space 3 is being worked on right now? Well, not through any formal announcement from EA, that’s for sure.
The video game blogosphere is abuzz with the scoop on Dead Space 3′s existence thanks to a an Israeli news program, The Headlines. The Israeli news show went on a tour of EA’s Redwood Shores office. The segment was to focus on video games’ evolution. Interestingly enough, in one of the segments, there was a background logo for Dead Space 3. Not just the logo, mind you, but also something that appears as conceptual art for the upcoming title. Oops. The cat is out of the bag! Our guess as to why EA has been mum about Dead Space 3 all this time is that they were waiting for a large event to make the announcement – E3 2012, maybe? EA hasn’t commented on this expose so far.
