Dead Rising 2: New Title Coming from Canadian Developers
The developer behind Dead Rising 2, Capcom Vancouver, was simultaneously working at two different projects. This studio, by the way, was using the name Blue Castle Games before. Recent job listings are hinting at what could be a brand new IP coming from Capcom Vancouver. So, it could be assumed that one of the two games mentioned earlier is that new IP.
The job listing was looking for a design director who could work for an “unannounced new IP,” which was described as a third person game that will be brimming with “action” and “adventure.” It would not be a surprise then if the studio were to be working on such a new IP. After all, look at what it has done for Dead Rising 2. We can hazard a few guesses on just what the new game would be. Maybe Capcom Vancouver has thought of using the Proto Man Costume from Dead Rising 2 – Off the Record to create a brand new franchise, which could be called Proto Man Legends. We think that this is a pretty logical theory, anyway. But with such generic descriptions such as “action”, “adventure”, and “third person” in the way, we don’t really have anything definite in our hands. For all we know, Capcom Vancouver is working at something completely unexpected that has not been leaked at all. That could be exciting, especially if the studio can find a new twist to the key words that we have mentioned earlier.

Whatever the game is, things should be looking up especially since Capcom Vancouver is also rumored to be developing Dead Rising 3. Again, that is a rumor that may very likely not come true. At this point, we can play the waiting game first. However, we are also quivering with excitement inside over the idea of a fresh new franchise.
