Dead Island: Bloodbath Too Late for Halloween?

Zombies are really cool lately. So long, vampires and werewolves, at least for now. It helps that Techland will be releasing a new DLC for Dead Island. There is a delay, though. The Bloodbath Arena DLC should have been out last month, September, but will now be launching next month. It would have been nice if the DLC had made it this month what with it being the Halloween month. But anyway, zombie fans couldn’t care less if they will be playing the game any other month. What they worry about is the fact that, well, the DLC should have been out already.

This is what is posted on the official Facebook page of Dead Island: “We have news for all who are waiting for the Bloodbath Arena DLC: it will be moved to mid November. The additional time will be used to make sure that every Dead Island fan will receive the best experience possible on every platform.” This is pretty much expected. Developers usually say such things and sometimes add in more features to appease gamers.

There will be four added Arenas to Bloodbath. In each arena, players get to defend themselves against seemingly endless hordes of zombies. The challenges can be played solo or co-op with other players. The DLC will also add in a new “brain wave” grenade, which should be a fast way to get rid of zombies. XPs or items won in the Arenas can be carried over to the campaign.

Techland reveals that they were making sure that the main game is polished. By focusing on the main game, less time was spent on the DLC. So, the release really had to be delayed to make sure both main game and DLC work well. The DLC is free to those who pre-ordered it through any of participating retailers. Without a pre-order, the expansion is $10.
