Dark Souls: Meet The Monsters

Usually, players do not get to really appreciate the design of monsters that are set out to kill their characters.  Dark Souls Director Hidetaka Miyazaki, however, decides that the monsters also deserve some spotlight time. PlayStation Blog features the monsters in all of their glory. This time, players may be urged to appreciate the artistic imagination that has managed to spring some really gory but strangely beautifully crafted monsters.  Miyazaki provides a commentary.

As if you are not scared enough to die before you master the game, the blog also features an intricate sketch of the Titanite Demon.  This headless demon has an overpowering aura but Miyazaki confesses that it has been the product of intensive brainstorming during a time when the team cannot yet zero in on a theme. Not only is the Titanite Demon intimidating on its own, but this monster is also able to fashion some mean weapons.

So, are you happy to see some sketches of Dark Souls monsters? Players who also happen to be art enthusiasts will definitely marvel at the effort put into each character. Others may shiver a little at the fearsome artworks. Yet others will be glad to know which monsters’ butts they will kicking in Dark Souls.
