Dark Souls: Major Patch Released
The Dark Souls 1.05 patch had just been released in the West although it had already been previously released in Japan. The patch fixes a lot of bugs and made changes for the title, which is available on PlayStation 3 and Xbox 360. All in all, the patch addresses several balancing and technical issues. Here are just some of the things the patch can do:
Changes in Magic
- Increased Vow of Silence range
- Lowered Magic Shield duration to approx. 11 seconds
- Slightly buffed sorcery spell damage
- Effectiveness of Iron Flesh nerfed
- Pyro Glove nerfed from 270 to 230
- Invincibility removed
- Tranquil Walk of Peace reduce to about 10 seconds
Status Changes
- Reduction of defensive bonuses gained via Humanity but item discovery gained via Humanity improved
- Base Equipment Burden increased
- Humanity Item drop rate increased to 210
Equipment General Changes
- Scaling changes with higher updates

Combat Changes
- Increased lock-on acquisition range
- Easier lock-on changing/switching
Online Changes
- Ability to see resonance signs
- Changes in amount of souls the Master of the game gains
Covenant Changes
- Covenant Material drop rate improved
- Lowered requirements for Sunbro covenant
Other Changes
- Official Guide nerfed

- Male Undead Merchant – also sells bottomless box
- Female Undead Merchant – sells arrow/crossbolts
- Andre – sells arrows/crossbolts
- Domnhal of Xena – sells arrows/crossbolts, Master Key (5000)
- Inglwood – sells transient curses
- And more

- Repairs freeze issues
- Proper display of souls needed
