WWE ’13: Former Wrestlers Provide Mocap Action
Two former wrestlers for the WWE are gearing up for a motion capture job for THQ. The developer is currently working on WWE ‘13’s motion capture and the two former wrestling stars have already been sighted with their mocap on.
Are you curious as to who these two former WWE fighters are? Well, one of them is Angela “Savannah” Fong, who used to be a WWE Diva. Fong used to be an ECW and NXT announcer until 2010. She has already confirmed through Twitter that she is providing motion capture character portrayal for WWE ’13. She even tweeted a more tangible proof of her recent working engagement – a photo of hers wearing a mocap while posing next to David Hart Smith. Yes, David Hart Smith is the other wrestler involved in the THQ project. The former wrestler was a part of a tag-team that was dubbed as “Hart Dynasty”, with Natalya and Tyson Kidd. If you are an avid WWE fan then you know that he was the British Bulldog’s son. Both Smith and Fong look like they are having a lot of fun working for the upcoming WWE title. Well, motion capture is also fun for us fans in the sense that we are assured of more accurate moves from the wrestlers. We usually look for a wrestler’s signature move and would not be too happy if the in-game character could not execute the move accurately.
Motion capture in a sports sim game such as WWE ’13 is definitely welcome. We would, however, like to know more about the work behind the scenes. Who else are taking up mocap suits to work on the new title? Wrestlers, both former and current ones, do not have anything to worry about working for the video game. It looks like Smith and Fong are having the time of their lives.
