WWE ’13: Community Manager For WWEGames Leaves THQ

There is a changing of the guard for the wrestling simulation and ultimate fighting/MMA simulation game community.  No other than THQ Tank, the community manager for WWE Gamess and UFC has announced that he is leaving THQ. As we reported earlier, THQ has let go of quite a bit of its employees although it made it clear that its development staff have largely been unaffected by the recent layoffs.

We are not sure if THQ Tank’s departure is part of this staff reduction or if the staff reduction came in waves. According to Tank’s own statement, he is leaving because he has a “new opportunity.” Given the recent job losses in the industry, we are not sure what this exactly means. Please pardon us for being skeptical since it comes with the territory of video game blogging-our job is to look past the headlines. Interestingly, Marcus Stephenson, another familiar THQ name, left the company a few weeks earlier. Regardless, THQ Tank will be a loss to the WWE gaming community because he was literally a tweet away for any new game information. While we are waiting for Tank’s replacement, we are comforted by the fact that we still have Cory Ledesma as a source of WWE game related news and answers.
