Wii U: Rumor Says Wii U Can Function as E-Reader
According to an info leak coming from a guy who is acquainted with an insider, Wii U will eventually be offering stuff other than games. In a world of multipurpose devices, this rumor is pretty reasonable. But that is not the main gist of the rumor. Nintendo does already have plans to make the Wii U, in a word, multipurpose.
Forgetthebox.net dishes out that Nintendo is planning to give Wii U the capability to serve as an e-reader. This means that you will be able to download and read books, magazines and even instruction booklets and strategy guides. The instructions and guides will certainly be helpful to the gaming aspect of the device itself. The blog further reveals that Nintendo is planning the same thing with the 3DS. As a result, you will be able to download digital versions of the magazines you have already subscribed to. The system can automatically download the latest issues as they become available. The user need not prompt the device.
For me, the whole idea if true will certainly make things easier. I can just imagine myself logging into the Virtual Console store not only to download games but also to get hold of electronic instruction booklets. It would be nice to have tips and tricks ready in the same device.

Not everyone is welcoming these changes, however. Some think that the Wii U is slowly starting to turn into one of the large array of tablets competing with each other. I say the Wii U still sounds great this way but we have to wait for confirmation.
