The Legend of Zelda – Skyward Sword: The Real, No Frills Timeline

Nintendo has finally released an “official” timeline for The Legend of Zelda. It was quite unexpected, really – not just the fact that Zelda has an actual timeline but that Nintendo would actually have it out there all official and ready for the scrutiny of fans.

Of course, we should not really depend too much in the given timeline for honest-to-goodness enlightenment though we are very much thankful that artist Zac Gorman has finally decided to create what we could dub as the “true” timeline for the franchise. Again, don’t take things seriously. Just ride on in the fun and the wit provided by Gorman. From the very top of the timeline, you already have an idea that this is not what you may expect from a serious Nintendo offering. The timeline is supposedly a second version. What? It is almost like a game in itself. And it can be if you want to treat it that way. After all, you can start from top to bottom, scouring for things that you can recognize and somehow agree or disagree with.

It is good to see an honest assessment of what has been going on with The Legend of Zelda. While I don’t agree with every little detail that Gorman had decided to put in, it is still interesting to see a lot of things that I could not help but giggle at because I totally agree with them. For now, just enjoy the timeline. Print it if you must. It is recommended to all The Legend of Zelda fans – or detractors even.
