The Legend of Zelda – Skyward Sword: Item system upgrade unveiled

The upcoming The Legend of Zelda – Skyward Sword title will feature a system for upgrading items. According to an interview with Bill Trinen of the development team for The Legend of Zelda – Skyward Sword. The video starts with the usual spiel regarding what’s cool about the game and the graphics.

After about 13 minutes, Trinen dropped a bombshell – the player can replace his traditional shield by crafting differing ones by combining elements and artifacts. The artifacts are dropped by beaten foes. This feature alone makes The Legend of Zelda – Skyward Sword definitely more interesting. Trinen says the upgrade system will apply to many items including Link’s shield and beetle. This adds an exciting layer of intricacy to The Legend of Zelda – Skyward Sword.
