Ghost Recon Online: Wii U touch pad & voice communications

We’ve heard a lot of technical details interspersed with hype regarding how awesome the Wii U will be. I mean that’s great and everything but until I saw the trailer for Ubisoft’s Ghost Recon Online, Wii U’s technical specs and capabilities remained in the realm of theory. Not anymore. Judging from its latest gameplay trailer, Ghost Recon Online fully utilizes the Wii U’s technical capabilities to maximize and enhance multiplayer FPS gameplay.

The trailer shows a recon team communicating with each other via Wii U’s wireless microphone system as they take positions assaulting a competing team. Each team member quickly moves through the game space using their touch pads while talking with each other throughout. Combat in Ghost Recon Online is flawless as team members yell to each for cover fire and support.

Previously, this level of coordination and verbal communication was possible only through the PC. While some commentators say that some of the Ghost Recon Online trailer team were being jerks, be that as it may, the trailer may not only have sold many observers on to Ghost Recon Online but also on the power of the Wii U. Seeing truly is believing. I personally can’t wait to see how other games incorporate the Wii U’s features.
