FIFA Soccer 13: Wii U Controls and Details Featured
We have to admit that we are starting to become a little interested in the Wii U. There are still only a few titles that have really caught our attention but one of those titles is definitely FIFA Soccer 13. The question remains however is how will EA Sports use the unique Wii U controller to control the game.
Luckily for us, in an article in the Official Nintendo Magazine, details about the soccer game have emerged. As usual all the main action will happen on the TV screen however, tackling, passing, and shooting will all be controlled by the touch screen on the controller. Other tactical adjustments will also be made there.
As soccer is such a tactical game it looks like FIFA Scocer 13 and the Wii U might be the perfect partnership. Using the touch screen on the controller, you can selection which opposition player you want to mark or tackle. Apparently pressing L3 brings up an image of the goal so that you can place your shot accurately both during normal play and during penalties and free kicks you can also shake the tablet to do the same thing.
In manager mode you can change the formation and tactics of you team all at your fingertips showing that Nintendo’s unique idea for a game controllers has many manifold applications. We here at Gamebandits believe that the flexibility offered by this controller will be a real benefit to the industry in general. It remains to be seen, however, if developers can apply this format to non-casual games. The Wii U is expected to launch in time for the holidays. Some of the rumoured titles do include AAA games like Mass Effect 3 and Assassin’s Creed 3. It will be interesting to see what the Wii U can offer over other gaming platforms such as the PC and the consoles from Microsoft and Sony.
