Assassin’s Creed 3: Ubisoft’s Biggest Challenge Yet

In an interview with CVG, Matt Turner chief writer on the Assassin’s Creed 3 project, has revealed that the storyline for this latest release is the biggest challenge faced by his team yet in terms of combining plot with historical accuracy. Turner states that even with a development window of two to three years the brief presents an enormous challenge.

Stating the the frontier map is 1.5 times bigger than Assassin’s Creed – Brotherhood, Turner talk of how it is difficult to write exactly what he would like because so much is known about that period of history. In previous Assassin’s Creed games it was a lot more flexible as not much is known, but in the case of Assassin’s Creed 3 everbody knows what George Washington was up to, for example. However Turner has stated that this is all part of the fun. It is also the case that the American Revolution is somewhat of a sub-plot although Turner was coy when asked about this. It is clear that this writer is not likely to leak any aspect of the plot. He was clear however that he Desmond story line will feature quite prominantly in Assassin’s Creed 3 although he was not specific about whether or not this means we will see that last of Desmond.
