The Elder Scrolls 5 – Skyrim: Patch 1.5 Launches with Killcams and Finishing Moves

The 1.5 patch for The Elder Scrolls 5 – Skyrim is now available after having been put through its beta paces last week. The patch is free through Steam. This latest update adds a little cinematic flash to your gameplay. What’s more cinematic than new finishing moves for melee combat?

These finishing moves come complete with additional kill cams in slow mo to show off your finishing moves. Archers and spell casters will no longer feel left out of the cinematic kill sequences since the patch gives them kill cams too. Now you can see your arrow tear through that troll that tried to block your path or see your fireballs roast some fresh wolf meat up close and personal. The update also improves the overall look of Skyrim through better shadows and improved detail shift in snowy landscapes. Of course, the patch knocks out a few bugs as well and some quests have been fixed. As we reported earlier, it looks like a lot of the major fires have been put out by the earlier patches and we’re now looking at patches that seek to enhance the game. It’s hard to blame Bethesda though.

Considering how content-dense Skyrim turned out to be and how ambitious the overall project was, they managed to launch with something solid-regardless of the initial bugs and glitches.
