The Darkness 2: Title Delivers Gross Outs Without Harming Storyline
Several publishers want it to be known that their games have fabulous storylines or at least impressive environments and gameplay. So, they put elements of storyline, flashes of the environment and samples of gameplay in their trailers. So what do you think about trailers that highlight only the graphic violence involved in the game? Well, as a player I do appreciate some high energy fighting action. I look forward to crashing cars, explosions and flying debris, even humans from time to time. But all of these should be juxtaposed with story, gameplay and beautiful graphics.
The makers of Darkness 2 seem to take things differently. They know that there are also players who crave more in terms of the killings. The latest Darkness 2 trailer only showcass a series of creative killings that you’d think you are watching the latest film trailer for a slasher flick. It makes me wonder how things are really going inside our heads that we can forgive a disgusting trailer for not showing a semblance of story and gameplay.
So if you have not seen the Darkness 2 trailer yet, expect to see a tentacle creature ripping out a man’s spine and skull. There is also lots of blood splattered on the screen for effect. So how disgusting can Darkness 2 get? Well, you can check that out by putting some of the most graphic shooter games and fighting games you know. Put them side by side with the Darkness 2 trailer and I bet that Darkness 2 still wins as the most likely to make you lose your lunch over a trailer. Still, it is impressive in its own dark way. It just such a shame we will have to wait until February for this awesome game.
