Warriors Orochi 3: Title Will Launch in March
Warriors Orochi 3 will be coming to the West on both the PlayStation 3 and Xbox 360. This is a decision that Tecmo Koei has fortunately made. The game is reported to launch on March 20 in the US and a full ten days later, on March 30 in Europe. The launch date and details seem to have been decided overnight.
The English-language version of Warriors Orochi 3 will still have a custom scenario editor from the original. This editor enables players to create their new versions of battles. They can also share their creations and rate other players’. They can tweak completed levels by changing the dialogue or by using one character over the other and by adding new events that they have collected from the campaign. In all the stages of the title, players can make use of the split-screen coop. There is also a two-player online co-op working on both the Story and Free Mode. Players can only call friends to join after having beaten the stage once. The three-character tag team gameplay comes back. However, it has been improved by the adding of new combat elements. These elements include an upgraded triple attack, dash attacks and even a brand new character category, which is called “Wonder”.
Warriors Orochi 3 boasts of the largest cast among all the titles from the franchise. All of the Dynasty Warrios and the Samurai Warriors are part of the main cast. There are also new original characters and even guest characters from games such as Bladestorm, Dead or Alive, Ninja Gaiden and Zill O’ll.
It is worth noting that the game is the first ever from the franchise to be released on PS3 outside Japan. The first two instalments were originally released on PS2. The later PS3 and PC releases never made it to the West.
