WWE ’13: Some Cover ideas that Would Turbocharge this Game
Don’t get me wrong, THQ’s WWE series is on the money when it comes to bringing the action, drama, and chills and spills of professional wrestling to video games. Who can forget the collection of game play enhancements WWE ’12 brought to the table? Still, just like with any popular game, for it to continue satisfying its massive fan base, it has to continuously evolve and fit its base’s wants WWE ’13 is no exception.
While a lot of digital ink can be spent on listing out the tweaks, inclusions, deletions, and re-engineering that would make for an “ultimate” WWE simulation game, we’re focusing this post on the issue of what covers would add more spice and power to the game. Here are just some ideas. Of course, a lot of them are products of mere wishful thinking. But for the sheer fun of it, we’ll list them out anyway. The first awesome cover idea is to add more World Championship Wrestling (WCW) stars on the cover. WWE ’12 featured some WCW stars. That’s a good start. It would be nice if the WWE series would go whole hog and feature all of the top stars of the short-lived wrestling promotion franchise. It would also bring the WWE series into the modern age if they featured more diversity in their cover choices. Starting out with Diva cover choices would be a good initial move. Eventually, the cover should feature more wrestlers from diverse backgrounds.

Given the demographic weight of the WWE series’ fan base, this might be a tall order. Another cool idea is to offer dual covers that show established stars in the background while highlighting the sport’s upcoming superstars in the front. This keeps the game’s pedigree firmly anchored to the top stars of the past while showing off present day superstars or up-and-coming talent. So let us know who you think should grace the cover in the comment section below!
