The Last of Us: Naughty Dog Devided In Two
Naughty Dog, word has it, has been official split into two teams. This is because the developer has been working on two separate major projects after Uncharted 2 – Among Thieves came out. Before the split, Naughty Dog usually worked on one game at a time. So, there was no need for two separate teams.
At this point, you should know that the team that made Uncharted 3 – Drake’s Deception possible is not the same team working on The Last of Us for two years’ now. The two separate teams within the studio had been confirmed by Naughty Dog’s very own co-president, Christophe Balestra via Twitter. Two teams are currently working very hard to produce Naughty Dog work. One of them is, of course, working on The Last of Us. The other is working at producing Uncharted 3’s post-release expansions. At least, we can safely assume the latter given what we know so far of the Naughty Dog schedule.
PS3 gamers should be happier with this Naughty Dog arrangement because they will be getting more games at a shorter period of time. It is more possible to get hold of two Naughty Dog games in one year, for example.
The Last of Us will be Naughty Dog’s fourth PS3 title since it launched as a studio n 2006. We are yet to find out if the other team is really bent on working on Uncharted DLCs or on something else entirely. It would be interesting to know if there are some more hot games in the near horizon for Naughty Dog.
