Playstation: All-Stars – Battle Royale Character Leaked?

The Playstation All-Stars Battle Royale has got some game bloggers excited. Still, some are feeling a bit less than satisfied with the rather low amount of characters revealed so far So far, there are only six characters that have been officially revealed for the roster. If the detective work of the gaming forum NeoGAF pans out, it appears that fans of Playstation All-Stars Battle Royale can look forward to a seventh character.

According to the sleuths at NeoGAF, the details of the seventh character were prematurely released. A user named Arukado posted an image in a long thread regarding Battle Royale. The image has two sides. The left side shows a still taken from an earlier leak of the game way back in November. One of the images from the original source leak, the Paul Gale Network, reveals the monitor in the leak. The right side of the image shows some game art based on the old Playstation 2 title ICO. ICO was released back in 2001. This sneak reveal of the artist’s workstation monitor shows different perspective shots of a female character. There also appears to be some ICO art at the right side of the screen. Some have speculated that the character may or may not be the female sidekick of Ico, Yorda.

This does suggest that Yorda might be making an appearance or else the artist was just looking at the ICO artwork for inspiration for the All-Stars Battle Royale. This alternative theory might not be all that far fetched. Artists often check out previous art for inspiration or ideas for resolving design issues with current games. Just because they look at previous material does not necessarily mean they are updating it for an upcoming game. I guess, we’ll just have to wait to see things develop further.
