NHL 13: Fans Get To Choose Cover Athlete
You gotta love democracy. Nothing ticks of many game fans worse than when they feel that developers and publishers are pulling a fast one and cramming major game decisions down their throat. Don’t believe me? Read up on the drama regarding the ending of Mass Effect 3 and you’ll get a clear example of a popular groundswell of gamer frustration.
Not exactly the stuff of successful brand marketing campaigns. The bottomline is that giving fans a voice helps your brand and builds trust. That is why the long-running hockey simulation franchise NHL, by EA Sports, is doing a great thing by letting gamers decide who will grace the series’ latest installment, NHL 13. The latest installment will carry new team lineups as well as gameplay and graphics tweaks and improvements from the previous year. EA Sports’ fan interaction is great since they are not just doing this cover athlete polling for NHL 13, they’re doing it also for Madden NFL 13. Madden NFL 13 is shaping up to have the largest number of fans voting in the series’ history. If you want to have your voice heard as to which NHL player should be on the cover of NHL 13, head on over to the NHL’s official website. The first round of voting will end on April 11.
Once the city team players are selected, another round will take place from April 12 to 22. After than the poll will use a single elimination bracket system until the final winner is selected. Exciting stuff. Get on over to the NHL official site and get your vote counted!
