NCAA Football 13: New Special Teams Rules Included in Upcoming Installment
What’s a sports simulation game like if it doesn’t follow the rules of the league, federation, or sports commission of the sport its focused on, right? Simply put, sports rule compliance adds yet another level of realism to any simulation game. That’s why the NCAA’s new rule on special teams will be incorporated into the upcoming college football simulator title NCAA Football 13.
The NCAA revised a few of its rules coming into the 2012 football season. These changes include moving the kickoff location, rewards for touchbacks, and dialing back minutiae rules regarding blocking. What is the net effect of the incorporation of these rules for players of NCAA Football 13? As a whole, it means there are fewer yards involved but there will be more scoring. This might seem counter-intuitive and a bad idea but you can’t lay the blame on EA. They are just following the NCAA rules. College football fans don’t need to wait until the start of the NCAA 2012 season in the fall to see how the rules impact the action on the field. They can see how it all plays out in NCAA Football 13 which comes out before the college football season’s start.
