Mortal Kombat 9: Freddy Krueger added as DLC fighter

If you’ve ever watched Nightmare on Elm Street, you know how much of a terror Freddy Krueger is. You know how he stalks you in your dreams and viciously rips you into shreds with those razor sharp blades of his. The raw terror. The shock. The fear. These are the raw emotions anyone who has watched Nightmare on Elm Street walks away with.

Well, it looks like your worst fears are about to get worse – Freddy Krueger has been officially added to the Mortal Kombat canon as a DLC fighter. This move has been rumored on the Internet for quite some time but many people just laughed off the improbability (and probably shamed by the sheer awesomeness of this possibility and just didn’t want to get their hopes up too much). Now it’s a cold hard reality. Mortal Kombat will unleash Freddy to your Xbox 360 for a mere 400 points or your PS3 for only $4.99. He packs two awesome and unique fatalities and has his own story ladder. A new trailer shows him off in all his scary and gory glory. Adding Freddy to the Mortal Kombat canon has gotten many commentators’ mental gears cranking full time. Who’s next to be added?  Jason Voorhees?  Hannibal Lecter? Michael Myers (Halloween)? The list, truly, is endless…

i think freddy krueger being in mortal kombat is a perfect fit. I just think that they need to make an alternate costume with the original robert england version. That’s what we grew up on and thats what we fell in love with. and a lot of people saying freddy only had one glove but when the parents killed him as a human, tinas mom took the glove and hid it as a sovenier.

very true, i wus super happy when i found out that he was gunna be a dlc and yes they should add the alt costume but for now im good with this one is gunna be epic!

yeah freddy krueger cool but for an “xbox 360″ vs “ps” they should have gave us “dante” from “dante’s inferno” cause “ps” got “kratos” from “god of war” so why wouldnt we get “dante” to me and alot of people i talk to this would be the more logical character for a dlc just on the sole fact that ‘dante’s inferno’ is very simalar to ‘god of war’ in gameplay

I think the possibilities are endless….

you could virtually add, Sponge Bob Square Pants, Tina Turner, Chuck Norris, Pumpkin head, Optimis Prime, Alf, Mr. T,……

Hell if we are going to hurt Mortal Kombat purist by adding crap like Freddy I guess the sky is the limit.

perfect, but where is Jason and myers. fredy vs jason is classic. and so is halloween with myers. they need to be in the game.

Ok first thing I am gonna say is that jonathan dupree probably got tortured by freddy when he was a child. And I don’t mean the movies.

2nd thing is that this is the absolute perfect spot for any horror film icon. And you couldnt have picked a better person for the job.

I personally cannot wait to get it, even though its been out for a couple months now.

hey everyone freddys babality should be when he falls asleep he has a little nightmare and starts crying LOL! maybe that might be it hahaha btw THEY NEED JASON NOW!!

Look more towards what WB owns. They do own the rights to Jason, but they also own the rights to superman and batman, harry potter, watchman, the matrix series, thundercats, beetlejuice, gremlins, Terminator, Lord of the Rings, Ninja turtles, Texas chainsaw massacre, and tomb raider. This isnt all they own but its some stuff that they could do something with.
