Mortal Kombat 9: Predator DLC not ruled out

Ok, it has not been confirmed that Preditor will be a DLC character in Mortal Kombat 9 but after the Freddy Krueger release speculation has been swirling around the internet as to whether or not any other non- Mortal Kombat 9 characters will make an appearance.

Fans @sidshuman and @noobde tweeted Mortal Kombat 9 co-creator Ed Boon to ask whether or not Alien/ Xenomorph would be too much of a stretch and Boon replied “I think Predator would be a closer match with MK”. Of course this tweet is not a confirmation that the Predator will definitely be a part of the possible line up for Mortal Kombat 9 but it has certainly whetted the appetite of fans who enjoyed playing the recent Alien Vs Predator game.

Although the idea of the Predator being a part of Mortal Kombat 9 is pretty cool, with all his special attacks and weapons that would fit nicely into the Mortal Kombat style, the rights to him may be tricky to negotiate. It would seem that the rights to a digital Preditor belong to Sega so there could be some wrangling required. It would also be pretty neat if some of the characters from past Mortal Kombat releases made a comeback as DLC’s with such a vast back catalog of great characters it might not be so necessary to look further a field. That said the Freddy Kreuger DLC looks pretty awesome. Watch this space!

    Please do this Ed. I’ve thought of this months ago. so happy someone asked him. His blood should actualy glow green…more green than reptile. His fatalities would be made for mk. Alien can’t because it wouldnt make sense. his blood would kill everyone. how could you murder it. like skarlet would die lol. Next should be Conan the barbarian or Jeepers Kreepers. Love mk9. keep the dlcs coming. lets kick marvel vs. capcom 3′s ass this fall Boon.

      I have been a faithful fan of MK since I ws a kiduntil now at the age of 24 and I love the new MK game and the DLC charachters and I agree predator would be a perfect fit in the M collection of DLC charachters.

    It wont happen because Fox has teh rights.This is a Warner Bros. Game so jason is more likley because they have the rights to him.

    Van Damme
    Steven Seagal
    CHUCK NORRIS
    Arnold
    John McClain
    All these guys KICK ass, and would be great to fight in different arenas.
    Just imagine Scorpion VS. Chuck Norris on the tower of the first Die Hard, or on a subway train with a bomb.

    Ok why would you even consider adding another non MK character when you have so many characters that are still out there that could and should be added. I mean I understand it’s supposed to be a rebirth but come on you already made the big change with taking out cyber smoke and adding cyber sub-zero which is ok but cyber smoke is still one of the ORIGINAL characters. Sector, Cyrax, and Smoke where all originally based off of predator everyone knows that. I mean if you dont your are definitely not MK fans, Their style, moves, accessories, look I mean really. And the entire freddy and jason horror thing that is not MK they would not last in a movie fight or anything else there just not in the same class. If your going to be non MK characters try to get the rights and bring in characters from Killer Instinct like Glacius, Cinder, Orchid, or Jago and if you really want another robot besides cyber smoke get Fulgore. Come on Ed stop throwing this incredible game down the drain there are so many other characters than freddy or the ones in consideration. Killer Instinct was just as good as mortal kombat and the characters were awesome bring them if anyone but if not KEEP IT ORIGINAL.

    mr ED adding predator would indeed be an awesome idea since the predator perfectly fits in this blood thirsty game MK. Predators blood should glow Green aswell with good fatalities, please ED if your reading this add predator! we all love predator dont we folks,, also adding Termintor the T-800 series would also be good, as u attack the terminator his skin falls off revealing the metal endo-skeleton that would be awesome with bone crushing fatalities…Thank you

    The Predator race has, by story line, been a large part of human growth and development. Earth is thier hunting ground. They have to enter the tournement to keep their claim and stop Shao Kahn.
